Andriana Furs Uses Michelle ‘Look-Alike’ to Promote Sale
Although PETA, the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, announced recently that they were pulling an ad campaign that used the likeness of First Lady Michelle Obama without her permission, it apparently hasn’t stopped a major furrier, Andriana Furs, from using her likeness. They have obviously come up with a look-alike model in their recent newspaper ad even though it is a well known fact that First Lady Michelle Obama does NOT wear furs.
The question now is, what can the White House do about real life people being used in ads that just happen to look like the President and First Lady?

The Cost Of Obama’s "Date Night"
Everything this “Colonel” reports is verifiable and in its form not unreasonable to believe. Just look at it and think of the current effort to buy a new fleet of executive jets and think of the soundness of the thought behind these decisions; it is like a kid in a candy store with Grandpa’s credit card!!
From a former Air Force Colonel….
Subject: “The Date”
And the media is concerned with the cost of Palin’s clothes?
First, let me say that I’ve moved three presidents up to now and I’ve seen incredible waste. But, the “new” guy really takes the cake. I don’t have an issue with the President promising his wife dinner and a show or that he even takes his wife out. But, when I saw the news say that the date cost $24,000, here’s what you DON’T know. Three days before “dinner” a C-17 flew Marines and the helicopter maintenance equipment to JFK Airport. The day before “dinner” I flew the USSS [United States Secret Service] and the motorcade to JFK Airport. Our crew of 5 spent two days and nights at the Hilton in Times Square. My hotel bill: $621.66 plus $64 a day in per diem. The USSS guys were at a different Hilton in NYC, so figure that cost another $14,000 (or so) plus per diem. The Marines had to have cost as much and were there four days, so figure another $55,000 plus per diem (for 44 Marines).
We were supposed to fly the motorcade back and go home, but the Air Force was so short of C-17′s that we were re-tasked to take the motorcade back, return to JFK and take the helicopter back to Quantico . When we got back to JFK, while the pilot was turning the plane around to park, he noticed a rotor blade sticking out of the hangar where the helicopter was parked and informed me that either it wasn’t ready to transport or it was flying home. After shutting down I walked over to the hangar and to my surprise I find FIVE helicopters, not ONE. We’re obviously not transporting five big helicopters. I went and talked to the Marines guarding the “fleet” and found that they were flying all five helicopters home and we were only transporting the Marines and the maintenance equipment. After talking to the Marine(s) in charge, I was told that the White House requested FIVE helicopters. The Marines told me that they spent all morning trying to figure out how much it cost them to come and said they figured it cost them $140,000 to stay there (I don’t know where they came up with that) and the trip’s total had to be about $1,000,000.
We heard that the President didn’t use Air Force One (the 747) so I asked if he came in on one of the 757′s. I was told that he came in on THREE Air Force Lear jets. So, date night consisted of: 2 C-17′s flying three missions, 3 Lear jets, 5 Helicopters, Presidential Motorcade, 44 Marines, more than 20 USSS personnel on our plane. Who knows what it cost the NYPD and NY Port Authority (at the airport) in overtime?
These are the same people that chastised the automobile CEO’s for using their aircraft. It further proves that the media only use the facts that make the President look good and hide any facts that will detract from his persona. Is this the ‘change’ we expected? Talk with friends and those who are not blinded by charisma. Many folks I know who voted for Obama are very disappointed and sorry they did so. The Emperor’s clothes on a grand scale. “Transparency”?

Michelle Obama, our ‘foxy’ First Lady!

Having watched our First Lady, Michelle Obama, throughout the campaign like many other Americans, I have come to the conclusion that we now have a ‘fox’ living in the White House! As a registered voter since 1964 I have seen many women occupying the post of First Lady, including Jackie Kennedy who was certainly a beautiful woman. Although I always felt she needed a good meal to fatten her up, she had style and grace that added so much to the excitement when observing White House travels and events.
Now, we are once again blessed by a First Lady who is unique in her own way. While there are detractors that are too concerned about how much her purse or sneakers cost, the rest of us are SO PROUD of Michelle Obama! She is bringing ‘color’ back to the White House and I am not referring to ‘skin color’. How refreshing to see our First lady exiting a plane the other day in a ‘knock-out’ yellow dress! And, later on that same day, I saw a news release with her wearing a cute little striped dress. After watching the last few First Lady’s wearing ‘carpet sweepers’ (ankle length dresses) or every imaginable pant suit outfit, it is SO refreshing to see what Michelle Obama wears.
I’m sure that the First Lady has a wardrobe expense account and based on where she buys most of her clothes, she seems to be very frugal with that account. Are her naysayers suggesting that she represent our Country, when traveling with the President, in something anything less than grandeur? Such pettiness to wonder about the cost of her purse (which turned out NOT being a $5,000 VBH alligator one) when she is abroad meeting with high ranking representatives as the President’s wife.
When Michelle is being casual and wants to wear $500 sneakers (Lanvin), more power to her. It’s her money and worrying about it isn’t going to solve the recession. I can’t recall all the catcalls complaining about how much Jackie spent, yet we all watched her every move in awe. What our current First Lady projects in her bright colors is a woman at her best, looking great, feeling great, being great, full of life, celebrating her country and her family and, yes, herself. She hasn’t placed herself in the background in beige, isn’t embarrassed that she is no longer 18, doesn’t hate her hips or rear end or ask whether her dress makes her look fat!
To me, that’s a role model for other woman her age to look up to.
Yes, folks, I’m afraid that we now have a FOX living in the White House and I, for one, appreciate my Country’s First Lady looking classy!
