DREAM Act Attached To Military Pay Raises
ObamaNation (Obama/Reid/Pelosi) failed in their attempt to repeal the 17 year old “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law.
Attaching the provision to a major military spending bill was just another effort of this failed administrations effort to pass more of their unpopular agenda.
Another attached provision was the DREAM ACT that would allow illegal immigrants to become ‘legal residents’ if they spent two years in college or served in the military. What other country would pay to send you to college or give you three square meals a day, fresh new uniforms to wear, and a warm bed to sleep in (let alone a gun)? Only in ObamaNation does that happen! This administration will go to any lengths to give the illegals ‘legal status’ and it is their hope that they can push their agenda through before the 2012 elections since Obama will need all the votes he can muster after the defeat he will witness this coming November.
He’s already made it into a racial issue based on his recent speech to the Congressional Black Caucus as he “implored black voters to restoke the passion they felt for his groundbreaking campaign two years ago and turn out in force this fall”. Without his base of black voters he and many fellow Democrats will be soundly defeated in 2012 which is why they are now pushing for illegals becoming ‘legals’ with the ability to vote within six years. This Act is meant to allow those born (or arriving under the age of 15) to illegals living in the States to apply for this program and eventually gain citizenship over a six year period. Babies born to illegals should be considered illegals as well and sent packing along with their parents. They are a burden on our school systems stretched budgets, requiring additional English learning classes since most parents do not speak English at home. We are the only country that caters to foreign speaking residents at the taxpayers expense.
It is almost a given that if this DREAM ACT ever passes the ACLU will step in and demand that it not only apply to young people but also to women and children no matter what their age is. It will also require this nations taxpayers to cough up for teaching them English so that they can get passing grades in college as well as understand their commanding officer. There aren’t enough jobs available for the current citizens of this nation so why do we need to grant legal status to those who came here by breaking the law?
Those who came here and ended up at Ellis Island did so legally and waited in lines for hours for processing. That is what all the illegals need to do. GET IN LINE!

Top Catholic Cardinal Says ‘No Way’ Catholic Members of Congress Can Support Senate Health Care Bill That Funds Abortion
A top Roman Catholic cardinal told CNSNews.com that there is “no way” Catholic members of Congress can support the Senate health care reform bill as long as it includes a provision that allows tax dollars to go to insurance plans that cover abortion.
At the National Press Club on Nov. 20, CNSNews.com asked Cardinal Justin Rigali, the archbishop of Philadelphia: “The Senate health care bill that Majority Leader Reid released this week permits tax dollars to go to insurance plans which cover abortion. And my question is: Would it be a mortal sin for a Catholic member of Congress to vote for this bill knowing that this provision is in it?”
“Well, first of all,” Rigali responded, “the Catholic Church and, therefore, individual Catholics, are completely against abortion. So our position is that, first of all, a health care bill can be a great, great blessing to our country. The bishops of the United States have been in favor, for long years, in favor of universal, affordable health care for everyone. So this, this is something that is extremely important.
“But we make a distinction between health care and killing,” Rigali continued. “So abortion is out of the question–as we’ve spoken about the value of human life. And everyone is called upon to do everything possible to see that when we are trying to get laudable health care—and that’s what we hope to get—laudable health care, but certainly abortion will be excluded from that. So we exhort everyone of good will that this is for the good of our country. This is for the good of individuals. We have to make sure that health care doesn’t end up as killing. So everyone is challenged to make his or her contribution, and we’re counting on legislators to make sure this is not part of what is going to rule the lives of people.”
When asked in a follow-up question whether it would be a mortal or venial sin, or not sinful at all, for a Catholic member of Congress to vote for the health care bill knowing that it would provide tax dollars to health insurance plans that cover abortion, Rigali said that people need to follow a well-formed conscience, and that a well-formed conscience would recognize that abortion is “absolutely wrong” and that there is “no way in the world” a health care bill can be supported if it includes a provision allowing tax dollars to go to abortion coverage.
“People have to follow their conscience, but their conscience has to be well-formed,” said Rigali. “And you have to make sure that when it is a question of doing something that has a provision, if it has a provision in it for abortion, then this is absolutely wrong by every standard and not by the standards of the Catholic Church as you see here today. It’s the standards of Christian, standards of the natural law.
“Everyone is called. Yes, no, any bill, any bill that has abortion in it is in our opinion to be rejected,” Rigali continued. “But keep in mind that health reform as such is a wonderful, wonderful thing. But a bill that includes it, there’s no way in the world that it can be supported and if it comes down to that. Once again we have the coming down as we examined in other questions. If it comes down to that, then we would urge, urge, a rejection because health reform is necessary, it has to be reformed, and it can’t be killing.”Rigali, the archbishop of Philadelphia, is also the chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Committee for Pro-life Activities.
Rev. Robert A. Sirico, president of the Action Institute, which seeks to promote Judeo-Christian ideas with free market principles, attended the event at the National Press Club where CNSNews.com asked Cardinal Rigali about the sinfulness of a Catholic member of Congress voting for a health care reform bill that funds abortion. Fr. Sirico offered commentary on the cardinal’s answer.
“When you ask if something is a mortal sin or a venial sin, you’re asking a question with regard to the individual act,” said Fr. Sirico.
Fr. Sirico drew a distinction between the objective moral status of an act and the subjective moral culpability of the person who commits it.
“When we’re talking about the broad morality of the thing, we’re talking about as it exists in natural law,” he said. Abortion and funding abortion violate the natural law and are gravely immoral. But for a person to commit a mortal sin, Sirico said, three conditions must be met: the act must be gravely wrong, the person must know it is gravely wrong, and the person must deliberately choose to do it.
“So, the reason the cardinal seemed like he wasn’t answering the question directly is because you can’t judge this along every congressperson, because it depends on their individual knowledge and their individual act of free will,” Sirico said.
“And so, it is grave, and if a person knows that it’s grave, and acts upon it freely, they may have committed a mortal sin,” he said.
The Catholic Catechism says: “For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: ‘Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent. Grave matter is specified by the Ten Commandments, corresponding to the answer of Jesus to the rich young man: ‘Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and your mother. The gravity of sins is more or less great: murder is graver than theft. One must also take into account who is wronged: violence against parents is in itself graver than violence against a stranger. Mortal sin requires full knowledge and complete consent. It presupposes knowledge of the sinful character of the act, of its opposition to God’s law. It also implies a consent sufficiently deliberate to be a personal choice. Feigned ignorance and hardness of heart do not diminish, but rather increase, the voluntary character of a sin. Unintentional ignorance can diminish or even remove the imputability of a grave offense. But no one is deemed to be ignorant of the principles of the moral law, which are written in the conscience of every man.”
The USCCB, which speaks for approximately 300 active bishops in the United States and is headed by Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, has sent several letters to members of Congress urging lawmakers to bar taxpayer-funding of abortion in health-care reform bills.
On July 17, for example, the USCCB sent a letter to all members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, saying, “We have in the past and we must always insist that health care reform exclude abortion coverage or any other provisions that threaten the sanctity of life… No health care reform plan should compel us or others to pay for the destruction of human life, whether through government funding or mandatory coverage of abortion.”
The letter was signed by Bishop William Murphy of Rockville Centre, New York, chairman of the Domestic Justice Committee.
On August 11, Rigali sent congressional representatives a letter to underscore the USCCB’s July 17 letter to Congress, writing, “Much-needed reform must not become a vehicle for promoting an ‘abortion rights’ agenda or reversing longstanding policies against federal funding and mandated coverage of abortion.”
On Sept. 30, the USCCB called on senators to bar federal funding of abortion in health care reform, saying, “We urge you to … support a fair and just health care reform bill that excludes mandated coverage for abortion and upholds longstanding laws that restrict abortion funding and protect conscience rights. No one should be required to pay for or participate in abortion. It is essential to clearly include longstanding and widely supported federal restrictions on abortion funding/mandates and protections for rights of conscience.”
The letter continued, “So far, the health reform bills considered in committee, including the new Senate Finance Committee bill, have not met President Obama’s challenge of barring use of federal dollars for abortion and maintaining current conscience laws. These deficiencies must be corrected.”
The Sept. 30 letter was signed by Murphy, Rigali, and Bishop John Wester of Salt Lake City, chairman of the Committee on Migration.
On Oct. 8, the USCCB sent a letter to members of the House of Representatives, saying, “We continue to urge you to … exclude mandated coverage for abortion, and incorporate longstanding policies against abortion funding and in favor of conscience rights. No one should be required to pay for or participate in an abortion. It is essential that the legislation clearly apply to this new program longstanding and widely supported federal restrictions on abortion funding and mandates, and protections for rights of conscience.”
The bishops added that they “will have to oppose the health care bill vigorously” if safeguards against federal funding of abortion are not realized. The letter was signed by Murphy, Rigali, and Wester.
On Nov. 6, the USCCB sent an urgent message to House members, imploring lawmakers to “support an amendment to keep in place current federal law on abortion funding and conscience protections and to oppose a closed rule that would prevent the House from voting on this crucial matter.”
“Without such protection we will have to oppose the current legislation until this fundamental flaw is remedied,” wrote Bishops Murphy, Rigali, and Wester.
Pastors of all the Catholic churches across the nation also were called upon by the USCCB to do their part to resist federal funding of abortion in health-care reform. On Oct. 29, the USCCB sent bulletin inserts to almost 19,000 parishes, the same day the House of Representatives unveiled its 1,990-page health care plan. The insert was headlined, “Tell Congress: Remove Abortion Funding & Mandates from Needed Health Care Reform.”
The insert further urged parishioners to contact House members and senators to address conscience protection concerns and to “fix these bills with pro-life amendments” to ensure federal funds are not used to cover abortion through the health care bill.
“Health care reform should be about saving lives, not destroying them,” read the insert.
Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, president of the USCCB, issued a statement on Nov. 9 in which he praised and thanked the House of Representatives for passing the Stupak amendment, which bars federal money from going to elective abortions.
The Stupak amendment, sponsored by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and Rep. Joseph Pitts (R-Pa.), would prohibit federal funds from paying for any part of any health insurance plan that covers abortion. It passed in the House on a bipartisan vote of 240 to 194, after heavy lobbying by pro-lifers, including staff from the USCCB, and after Stupak and at least 40 other Democrats threatened to kill the health care bill unless allowed a vote on the amendment.
In passing the Stupak amendment, “the Representatives honored President Obama’s commitment to the Congress and the nation that health care reform would not become a vehicle for expanding abortion funding or mandates,” wrote Cardinal George.
“The Conference [USCCB] will remain vigilant and involved throughout this entire process to assure that these essential provisions are maintained and included in the final legislation,” he said.
At the National Press Club, Rigali spoke alongside other prominent Christian clergymen and scholars about the release of the Manhattan Declaration, a statement that proclaims the sanctity of life, traditional marriage and religious liberty.
Those in attendance included Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C.; Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. of Hope Christian Church; Prof. Robert George of Princeton University; George Weigel, distinguished senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and founding president of the James Madison Foundation; Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council; and Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family.

White House Crashers Called Aspiring Reality Show Stars
Vice President Joe Biden put an arm around the waist of the glamorous, slender blonde in bright red Indian-style formal dress and flashed his pearly whites.
Three Marines in dress blues smiled and clasped their white-gloved hands in front of their bodies as the blonde joined them on what seems to be a White House portico.
And White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel leaned in for snapshot with the blonde as she draped a hand over the shoulder of her tuxedoed husband, her rings inches from a pair of official-looking badges on his lapel.
It’s not clear if the pins on the man’s tuxedo actually are official, but his presence at President Obama’s first state dinner wasn’t, and neither was his wife’s.
Tareq and Michaele Salahi crashed the dinner, in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Tuesday night, the Secret Service has confirmed.
The agents tasked with protecting the president “did not follow proper procedures,” secret srevice agent Edwin Donovan said in a statement. He said the gatecrashers went through metal detectors “and other levels of security.”
The incident represents a security breach for the white House at the Obama administration’s biggest social event to date. More than 300 guests, including Cabinet members, diplomats and Hollywood celebrities, attended the dinner.
The Salahis are aspiring reality TV stars who hoped to land roles in the forthcoming show, “The Real Housewives of D.C.,” by the Bravo cable network, The Washington Post reported.
Bravo says it’s in the nation’s capital to “identify the city’s alluring and discriminating residents, those women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fundraisers in Washington society.”
The network declined to comment about the Salahis. The couple is well-known in “wine country and polo circles” in Fauquier County, Virginia, west of Washington, the Post reported. Their presence at the White House caught the immediate attention of Roxanne Roberts, one of two Post columnists who writes the newspaper’s gossip column.
“When I saw them come in, I went ‘What on Earth are they doing here,’” Roberts told CNN.
The Post’s column Reliable Sources has described the Salahis as polo-playing socialites from northern Virginia.
Video of the dinner showed the couple walking past journalists into the event.
On Wednesday, the couple’s Facebook page included the photos of them at the dinner with Biden and Emanuel, who was identified on the page as “Ron,” not Rahm.
The couple controls a winery outside of Washington. It is closed but promises to reopen next year.
“Michaele & Tareq Salahi send a big Cheers!” says a notice on the Web site of Oasis winery, which Tareq battled his family to control, according to local news reports.
Tareq “grew up helping his father plant and cultivate the vineyard” on a “postage-stamp” plot of land in Fauquier County, which describes itself as being “on the fringe of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.”
“In recognition of his passion for making wine, his father pledged to sell the vineyard to him one day for a dollar, Salahi recalls,” according to the Fairfax Times newspaper.
But Tareq ended up fighting his family in court for the property, gaining control of it two years ago thanks to a wealthy friend in the real estate business who bought it for $4.15 million.
“This is not charity, but I am helping a friend. I’m just giving Tareq a vehicle to realize his dreams,” real estate agent N. Casey Margenau said, according to the newspaper.
Court records show that Oasis filed for bankruptcy in February, the Washington Post reported.

I’m Not Laughing
I was listening to one of the news talk radio shows, as they talked about more spending of dollars, dollars they are forcing us to borrow from our kids, grand kids, etc.
The thing that irked me the most was that the government was spending more money of our tax dollars, you know those stimulus, bank and wall street bailouts, etc. They spoke about what else, spending more tax dollars on teaching our good ‘ol government workers how important “joking” is in the work place!
Well I’m not laughing…
When a stimulus bill of 1 trillion dollars and counting, designed to help me, the over burdened, overworked, got no relief and have no hope of getting any from the rent, mortgage, gasoline, electricity bill, telepone, property tax, sales tax, payroll tax, personal tax, business licensing tax, vehicle registration tax, falling home prices, rising mortgage rates, job loss, rising unemployment, evaporating net worth, a non existent 401K and other investments, etc.
It’s getting awfully difficult to continue breathing when an 800lb (gueralla), the burden mismanaged government, is sitting on my chest, won’t move, can’t convince, reason with or lure IT OFF MY CHEST, out of my pocket, or to get it out of my way and STOP HINDERING US from living our lives.
Green shoots?
The only green shoots, as the “tic’s” in Washington call them are foreclosure signs popping up all over the suburbs of every city, town and state of these United States of America. The number of my fellow citizens who are finding themselves “unemployed”, commercial real estate vacancy signs being issued and posted in windows on every corner. Construction projects stalled, stopped or totally abandoned all due to those wonderful, yes generous banks “who needed our tax paying dollars” to shore them up and protect them from “failure”, who now refuse to work with the “tax paying” companies that help contribute to their survival.
… more shoots!
How about the “homeless” that are also popping up all around town? Honest hardworking, once productive members of our society, who due to the massive debacle of the absolute FAILURE of our “checks and balance” overseer’s in Washington, who failed in their duties to exercise their “publically placed” oversight of the/our Nations business, well-being, i.e., financial and national security, etc., etc.
… MORE SHOOTS OR EMPTY SUITS?
The bonuses and vacations, retreats, etc., that the executives, employees and oh yeah our constantly vacationing, empty suits in Washington DC, who hear, see and have of late shown themselves to KNOW NOTHING of what they do… Of course they don’t, THEY DON’T READ! They don’t read the bills they author, the emails, letters, postcards or petitions “we the people” send them over and over and over again.
NEVER READ? YOU’LL NEVER LEARN OR UNDERSTAND!
I truly believe they are all ailing of some sort of dementure, I mean how many times do we have to tell them we want our laws enforced, we want our borders secured, we want a fence built/completed, we want gitmo to stay open, we want NO MORE TALK OF ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY, we want workplace enforcement, we want the spending to stop, we want all the budgets balanced; federal, state, city, etc., etc.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED…
* I’ve learned how expensive it is to live in this country!
* That I’m now suffering from insomnia
* That I don’t need to eat out
* how to find bargains in the supermarket
* how to do without candy, cake, soda, lights, a/c, heat, etc.
* how to walk, rather than drive
* how I can’t pay/visit my doctor
* how much yard work I needed to do
* how much stuff good-will can or will accept from one household
* how cheap clothes are at the local thrift shops
* how nice the goods are at the local thrift shop
* how I can’t afford to pay for my perscriptions
* how bad a job my dentist performed on my 55 year old teeth – loosing them!
* how much of a struggle it is to put/keep gas in my car
* how many light switches I have in my home – always shutting one or more off
* how much I worry about how to make ends meet
* how I’m gonna feed and care for my family – money and work really tight!
* how much I hate looking up at my ceiling during the early morning hours
* how much I really hate those late night radio commercials
* how much time I spend on the computer looking for answers
* how many scam artists are produced during such times
* how hard it is to lay-off members of my staff
* how hard such bad times is on kids
* how much a family depends on one another in hard times
* how coffee tastes without cream or sugar
* how little I really need to eat at breakfast
* how easy it is to get by on one meal a day!
* how good powdered milk really tastes
* how far I can stretch / spread peanut butter
* how good crackers go with powdered milk
* how deaf politicians are – REALLY!
* how easy it is to call my congress(person)
* how easy it is to call my US Senator
* how many of the same form letters, blah, blah, blah politician use
* how much “schuck and jive” politicians give their constituients
* HOW POORLY GOVERNMENT WORKS – WHEN POLITICIANS DON’T LISTEN!
AND MY POINT?
One wiser then myself stated: “when the going gets tough (and they most definitely are now), get tough and keep going”.
Problem for many of us, most definitely have the toughness and we’re getting tougher all the time, as we weather this “undeserved”, “unwarranted” storm, we simply no longer have the time. We are older, frail, lack the energy or strength to go back to the start line on the real “monopoly board”, i.e., no longer capable to start this fight all over again! What this Government has done and is continuing to do is tantamount to abuse, bullying those who no longer or soon will no longer have the wear-with-all to fight the fight for “truth, justice and the American” way – perhaps that is what the incompetent in Government are planning, hoping and waiting.
THE JOKE IS ON YOU… I HAVE A MEMORY LIKE AN ELEPHANT!
It will never be too tough for me to remember all the games that were played at the expense of mine, my famailies and my countrymens well-being.
* how little you did for us when it mattered, really mattered most,
* how you squandered our hard earned tax dollars
* how little you cared how you sold us, our children, grand-children and great grand-children into financial servitude.
* how little you did when they foreclosed on my house
* how little you did when you empty suits could have stopped the melt-down
* how little you did after my net worth went down to zero!
* how much you saught to over burdened me with more and more taxes
* how little you did to get Americans the justice they deserve(d)
* how little you did to shore up the small business owners
* how little you did restore, stabalize confidence in Americans
* how you lied about unemployment being reduced
* how you lied to get your bogus “stimulus” package passed
* how you try to shut the mouth of “honest” politicians – telling the truth
REMEMBERING LIKE AN ELEPHANT!
If you’ve experienced the same, feel the same then I encourage you to do as I – MARK YOUR CALENDAR, WATCH THE DATES CAREFULLY and then YOU MUST REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

Michelle Obama, our ‘foxy’ First Lady!

Having watched our First Lady, Michelle Obama, throughout the campaign like many other Americans, I have come to the conclusion that we now have a ‘fox’ living in the White House! As a registered voter since 1964 I have seen many women occupying the post of First Lady, including Jackie Kennedy who was certainly a beautiful woman. Although I always felt she needed a good meal to fatten her up, she had style and grace that added so much to the excitement when observing White House travels and events.
Now, we are once again blessed by a First Lady who is unique in her own way. While there are detractors that are too concerned about how much her purse or sneakers cost, the rest of us are SO PROUD of Michelle Obama! She is bringing ‘color’ back to the White House and I am not referring to ‘skin color’. How refreshing to see our First lady exiting a plane the other day in a ‘knock-out’ yellow dress! And, later on that same day, I saw a news release with her wearing a cute little striped dress. After watching the last few First Lady’s wearing ‘carpet sweepers’ (ankle length dresses) or every imaginable pant suit outfit, it is SO refreshing to see what Michelle Obama wears.
I’m sure that the First Lady has a wardrobe expense account and based on where she buys most of her clothes, she seems to be very frugal with that account. Are her naysayers suggesting that she represent our Country, when traveling with the President, in something anything less than grandeur? Such pettiness to wonder about the cost of her purse (which turned out NOT being a $5,000 VBH alligator one) when she is abroad meeting with high ranking representatives as the President’s wife.
When Michelle is being casual and wants to wear $500 sneakers (Lanvin), more power to her. It’s her money and worrying about it isn’t going to solve the recession. I can’t recall all the catcalls complaining about how much Jackie spent, yet we all watched her every move in awe. What our current First Lady projects in her bright colors is a woman at her best, looking great, feeling great, being great, full of life, celebrating her country and her family and, yes, herself. She hasn’t placed herself in the background in beige, isn’t embarrassed that she is no longer 18, doesn’t hate her hips or rear end or ask whether her dress makes her look fat!
To me, that’s a role model for other woman her age to look up to.
Yes, folks, I’m afraid that we now have a FOX living in the White House and I, for one, appreciate my Country’s First Lady looking classy!

The Mendacity of Hope: Obama’s Agenda for Abortion
It has been over 35 years since the controversial Roe v Wade Supreme Court (7-2) decision to make early term abortions legal in the US. Despite the landmark decision in 1973 abortion rights are still being vigorously contested in many quarters of the country. For those against abortion mainly for religious beliefs but also for profound moral reasons argue that abortion as defined by Roe is the willful taking of a precious human life endowed with all the rights, privileges, and protections guaranteed everyone by our government. On the other side those in favor of the right to abortion argue that women should have control over their own bodies making it an issue of privacy; a personal decision that should not be privy to our government. These disparate and contentious points of view underscore the essence of the debate that has been ongoing for nearly four decades and in all likelihood will continue to rage on for the foreseeable future certainly through and beyond the Obama administration.
So where does our newly elected “post partisan” President stand on this inflammatory issue of abortion? As the most liberal democrat while in the US Senate, Obama strongly supports a women’s right to choose to terminate her pregnancy for any reason through legal and safe abortion procedures as defined by Roe. If you accept his voting record as well as his public speeches and policy statements, Obama will apparently do just about anything and everything he can to preserve a women’s right to affordable and unfettered abortion on demand as promoted by tax subsidized abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. Indeed, Obama’s explicit even enthusiastic support for abortion on demand has rightly earned him a 100% rating from NARAL (National Abortion & Reproductive Rights Action League) Pro-Choice America as well as an enthusiastic endorsement from Planned Parenthood the largest abortion provider in the US. In contrast, Obama not surprisingly has received a rating of 0% by the NRLC (National Right to Life Committee) the largest and most influential nonprofit prolife advocacy organization.
Obama’s wife Michelle who is his closest political advisor is also pro choice and strongly supports a women’s right to abortion on deman. Like her husband Mrs. Obama who also graduated from Harvard law school holds extreme views on abortion and wrote a controversial fund raising letter defending a partial birth abortion procedure known as “intact dilation and evacuation”, a contentious late-term abortion technique. In her letter she called partial birth abortion a “legitimate medical procedure” and declared the federal ban “a flawed law” that “is clearly unconstitutional”. However, the Supreme Court in 2007 disagreed with her albeit narrowly upholding the ban with a vote of 5-4.
As for Obama’s voting record as an Illinois legislator he opposed the bill to ban partial birth abortion and the state’s “Born Alive Infants Protection Act” that ensures the rights of children who survive failed abortion attempts. He also voted against legislation banning state funding for abortions. In fact Obama has never supported any limitation of abortion to either lessen its availability or reduce its public funding. He has made it unambiguously clear that he opposes any and all government restrictions on abortion, including partial-birth abortions. Obama even strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the federal law banning partial-birth abortion and in 2007 also voted to expand research on embryonic stem cells. Obama seems to hold a rather extreme position on abortion that is widely considered outside the mainstream. Most Americans support for abortion is highly conditional and overwhelmingly (71%) reject unrestricted abortion viewing abortion as a profound moral issue that should be limited with reasonable regulation by the government preferably at the state and local levels. Only about 28% of Americans support abortion at any time for any reason.
To circumvent the mainstream Obama along with 18 other pro abortion senators has sponsored the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) and in July 2007 Obama gave an impassioned speech to a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event promising “The first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.” The passage of FOCA would essentially nullify every federal, state, and local law limiting or regulating abortion including the Hyde Amendment prohibiting federal funding of abortion and the current federal ban on partial birth abortions signed into law in 2003 by President Bush. FOCA besides making abortion on demand a “fundamental right” throughout the United States would simultaneously invalidate all laws on informed consent and parental notification as well as any mandatory waiting periods. It also would eliminate all state restrictions on taxpayer funding of abortions and health safety regulations for abortion clinics. Moreover, in opposition to the first amendment it would require for the first time Catholic and other religious hospitals to provide abortions.
Perhaps Obama’s most personally revealing statement regarding abortion was when he said if his daughters “make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement for family values. In another interview when asked when life begins Obama glibly replied “I don’t know” that “is above my pay grade”. Now as the 44th President of the United States and new commander in chief, it is surely no longer above his pay grade since he will likely have the opportunity to select the next Supreme Court justice. As for the type of justices he might choose, Obama believes the constitution is a “living document” and is likely to appoint liberal non strict constructionalist to the bench along the lines of Breyer, Ginsberg, and Souter. Obama voted against both of Bush’s appointments, Chief Justice John Roberts and Sam Alito each confirmed by comfortable senate margins.
Obama’s constitutional philosophy on Supreme Court appointments was aptly revealed when he implored that “we need someone who’s got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it is like to be a young teenage mom”. He elaborated saying “the empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor, or African American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that’s the criteria by which I’m going to be selecting my judges.” Empathy means “judicial activism” and seems a strange criterion by which to select judges for an intellectual who taught constitutional law for a decade. Ironically, Obama claims he would not have appointed Clarence Thomas, who’s only the second African American ever appointed to the court, saying Thomas “was not a strong enough jurist or legal thinker”.
Obama orchestrated a brilliant “cult of personality” campaign centered on the banal platitudes of HOPE and CHANGE. His charismatic persona, soaring rhetoric, and ubiquitous campaign slogans of “Change We Can Believe In” and “Audacity of Hope” were overarching themes on which he built his bipartisan presidential bid. Let’s all “hope” Obama as “the one we’ve been waiting for” will indeed bring “change” but not just to America but also to himself with a repudiation of his militant commitment to unrestricted abortion with the appointment of non activist judges that respect our constitution and the inalienable rights of all Americans whether they be born or unborn.
Within days of becoming the historic 44th President of the United States and only a day after the 36th anniversary of Roe v Wade, Obama signed an executive order to reverse the ban on federal aid to international family planning organizations that perform abortions for population control. The policy known as the “Mexico City Policy” bans U.S. taxpayer money from going to international family planning organizations that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion. Anti abortion groups roundly criticized the presidential order. The legislative director of the National Right to Life Committee, Douglas Johnson, lamented “President Obama not long ago told the American people that he would support policies to reduce abortions, but today he is effectively guaranteeing more abortions by funding groups that promote abortion as a method of population control”. Apparently Obama’s campaign mantra “Yes We Can” doesn’t apply to policies reducing abortion in the third world. Once again Obama affirms his militant commitment to unrestricted abortion not only in the U.S. but in the rest of the world. This change in US policy doesn’t bode well for those that had hoped Obama would govern from the center and moderate his radical support for abortion on demand.

Barack Obama, The Techno-Savvy President
The US just does not seem to get enough of Obama. The country’s fascination for him just does not seem to cease. The new President will not just go down in history as one of the youngest to occupy the White House but also as the most techno savvy President of the US. From election campaigning through Facebook or updating what he has been up to in Twitter, Obama knows how exactly to capture the mood of the Gen Y and make them identify with him.
But being a president has its own drawbacks. The self-confessed Blackberry addict cannot take his gizmo to the Capitol Hill because of security reasons involved in exchanging emails through the Blackberry. Various gizmos and technologies have been developed around Obama and his techno-savvy nature.
Like the special Obama application for the sensational iPhone 3G developed during the Presidential campaign. The app provided updates on the election campaign details, helped identify party members in various locations, gather support and send reminders to people to vote on Election Day. He has already announced setting up a Chief Technology Officer for the country, the first of its kind post, to being the best of technologies in the private sector, for government services.
Now that the first family has set its foot in the White House, the Obama fever has peaked. There are many websites on the internet providing a range free MP3 ringtones download on Obama. Some of the ringtones include the famous ‘Go Obama’ song and his famous statements like, “Ready to go?”, “Yes we can” and so on.
http://www.funmo.com/ringtones/4502886/download/go-obama-barack-obama
For those with a creative bent of mind, it’s also possible to make your own ringtones by mixing Obama’s voice with the music you like. To have a ringtone that goes, “Hi, this is Barack Obama asking you to answer the call. Help change America” would be really cool. It’s something which Obama himself would love to have.

Barack Obama – Myths, Facts, and Obfuscating (bloggers Beware)
Is guilt by association fair? Many blogs and websites, including APRPEH have made an argument that Barry Obama’s true feelings towards Jews and Israel can be measured by his associations. Undeniable facts about Obama, many of them posed as questions left unanswered or not answered in a credible or believeable fashion have formed the core of the No-Bama effort. These questions remain legitimate campaign issues and concerns. Obama DID indeed maintain a 20+ year relationship as a member of TUCC in the Jeremiah Wright flock, listening to what is undeniably anti-US and antiJew rhetoric only distancing himself when his crusade for the Presidency was jeopardized.
Who are Obama’s friends and associates for which he should be measured? Let’s take a closer look using easy to find world wide web references.
(See the LATimes story from April 10, 2008 – Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama) Obama’s special friend, Rashid Khalidi, former spokesman for the scumbag Yasir Arafat who held fundraisers for Obama, was honored with a speech by State Sen. Barack Obama in a 2003 going away party. Khalidi, according to the LA Times story is described as “internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights.
Then there is Ali Abunimah, described in the same LA Times article as ” a Palestinian rights activist in Chicago who helps run Electronic Intifada, and quoted as saying:
Abunimah quoted Obama as saying that he was sorry he wasn’t talking more about the Palestinian cause, but that his primary campaign had constrained what he could say.
Now, lets add to the mix the Obama foreign policy advisors who have come and gone. I am not even sure I remember them all. Please feel free to add to the list in the comments:
Simple web searches on the following Obama advisors is telling.
Samantha Powers – (see National Review Online Monday, February 11, 2008 – Obama Adviser Samantha Power on Israel, “Jenin Massacre” )
Joseph Cirincione – (see World Net Daily May 01, 2008 -Obama adviser: Israel must give up its nukes)
Robert Malley – (see Yid With Lid blog post February 5, 2008 Obamas Israel Hating Advisor Robert Malley)
Merrill Tony McPeak – (see YNETnews March 26, 2008 – US Jews Hinder Peace)
Zbigniew Bzrezinski – (see American Thinker – January 16, 2008 – Barack Obama and Israel)
Ed Lasko at American Thinker adds:
The appointment of Brzezenski elicited much dismay among supporters of Israel since Brzezinski is well known for his aggressive dislike of Israel. . He has been an ardent foe of Israel for over three decades and newspaper files are littered with his screeds against Israel. Brzezinski has publicly defended the Walt-Mearsheimer thesis that the relationship between America and Israel is based not on shared values and common threats but is the product of Jewish pressure. Brzezinski also signed a letter demanding dialogue with Hamas-a group whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel and is filled with threats to Jews around the world.
Financial support from not very friendly to Israel, George Soros can be added to the equation as well even though Obama has attempted to distance himself from the billionaire contributer. If Obama really wants to distance himself from the tens of thousands of dollars contributed through Soros connections has he offered to return any recent donations and asked Soros and his Moveon.org friends to stop supporting his campaign? (see American Thinker article from April 30, 2007 – Soros, Obama, and the Millionaires Exception and june 11, 2008 article George Soros and Obama’s veep also from American Thinker)
And while it is not necessarily Jewish related, how can we forget Syrian born friend Tony Rezko, former donor and fundraiser for Obama, convicted recently on corruption related charges. (Tony Rezko – Wikipedia article.)
Obama’s relationship with terrorist and political indoctrination specialist William Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn (William Ayers wikipedia article along with former “Weatherman” and wife Bernadine Dorhn) is well documented and factual.
So what is the point of going through this exercise, re-hashing the well published reports you might ask? The Obama fans and possibly Obama campaign are behind an effort to obfuscate.
(see PostBulletin June 25, 2008 Can Obama fight Web-driven lies?) and
(see Jpost – June 19, 2008 -Snap Judgment: Have you read the latest Obama e-mail? Unbelievable!)
ob·fus·cate (bf-skt, b-fskt) (The Free Dictionary)
tr.v. ob·fus·cat·ed, ob·fus·cat·ing, ob·fus·cates
1. To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand: “A great effort was made . . . to obscure or obfuscate the truth” Robert Conquest.
2. To render indistinct or dim; darken: The fog obfuscated the shore.
It is true that a considerable amount of email and internet garbage is floating around alleging all sorts of BS about Obama. It is also true that email based urban myth is one of the downsides of the electronic world. Our email boxes are flooded with Nigerian scam email, phishing, and urban myths begging the reader to perpetuate the falsity.
In fact, call it reverse guilt by association. It is with this understanding that the agenda of the Obama camp to label every blog post, every email, every warning about Obama as driven by crazies with a hate filled, anti-Muslim or racist agenda is underway. Some, they may say are just plain crazy. But all of them, all criticism is illegitimate (according to this strategy) because it is someone’s opinion, not the truth – just another one of those “myths”.
This policy must be confronted strongly and clearly. The list above is composed of undeniable fact. The effort to re-cast the past of Obama as something else, something different, something sweet and innocent is a fraud and should be called a fraud.
Obama cannot reasonably claim that he had no knowledge of the offensive, disgusting, and criminal aspects of his friends in the past as he cannot claim that he has no knowledge of or doesn’t agree with the antiJew and anti-Israel opinions of his foreign policy team. If he really had no knowledge, he is the most ignorant man who has ever run for the Presidency.
Of course, some Obama staffer can just say all of this is campaign rhetoric and to take it as a grain of salt. Afterall, it IS the internet. Or readers and concerned, thoughtful Americans can expose the truth, continue writing to the newspapers, calling talk radio, writing blogs, responding to blogs and talking to their friends who may be on the fence. Freedom is not free and free speech is under assault by the Obama people, a telling foretaste of an Obama administration.

Waxman-Markey Cap-and-Trade Energy Tax Bill
Last week there was an unbelievably tight, down-to-the-wire fight in the U.S. House of Representatives over the massive Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade energy tax bill, the largest tax hike in American history and an unprecedented intrusion of the federal government into our economy and our lives.
Thanks go out to the many common-sense Americans who gave the side of economic sanity a fighting chance. Your calls and emails made a huge difference, and Americans For Prosperity members were clearly one of the driving forces last week.
We weren’t quiet able to win in the House, but we’re confident that if we can keep educating and mobilizing regular common-sense Americans, we can beat this disastrous bill in the Senate.
Here are few reasons to be hopeful:
* Just two states, California (32) and New York (25) provided more than a quarter of the 219 total yes votes
* Democrats in several key targeted Senate states voted majority no, including Indiana (3 of 5), Arkansas (2 of 3), and West Virginia (2 of 2)
* Earl Pomeroy of North Dakota, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin of South Dakota, both statewide elected Democrats, vote no
Unfortunately, we also learned that the White House is willing to do anything to get this bill passed, including misleading and intimidating members. That means the Senate fight will be right down to the wire, and pressure from back home will be the only way to stop this from passing.
We also know the stakes, in the President’s own words:
“Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”
There is no time to waste, so I’m asking you to please click here to send a strong message to your Senators to oppose this outrageous cap-and-trade bill.
Thanks for everything you do to make Americans For Prosperity great.

Creating Enemies
Our military doesn’t talk about or release death figures when we go to war- other than how many we have sustained. The reason? If we knew the results and potential consequesnces of what WAR was producing, we’d not want war. If there’s ever a truism, it’s that in a war NO ONE WINS! Worst of all we just create more enemies for us all.
For a Christain nation that pretends to follow a WIN-WIN philosophy, we are winding up with more of a LOSE-LOSE mentality.
Here’s “us and them” the facts:
1-They killed 2,800 of us (9-11)
2-We killed 800,000 of them
3-They killed 4,000 of us (50,000+ wounded).
And how’s that all working out for our world, Dr. Phil?
There was a reason that the Israelites thought that God told them to kill every Canaan man, woman and child (God didn’t- it was their rationalization for doing so). For every man or woman that was killed there were cons, daughters and relatives that now hated the Israelites. They knew that unless they killed the children, the children would one day be looking to kill them.
It’s just how it works.
So, are we SAFER now? You’ve heard the argument.
My answer is NO! Multiple by 5 or 10 the 800,000 we’ve killed and we’ve now created something like 5-10,000,000 people who are looking to get revenge against us. Right after 9-11 the world was on our side. The world had our sympathies. The world mourned with us. Five years later the world despises us and we have much more than ten million new enemies. Muqtada al-Sadr needs to learn the lesson as well.
When will we wake up and drink the Starbucks?
How long will it take us to realize that you can’t FORCE a democracy on a nation of people who believe in a theocracy, not a democracy. If we pull out now, Iraq will return to a theocracy. If we pull out in five years, Iraq qill return to a theocracy. So, how many more lives, how many more enemies will we create in our arrogant thinking that the rest of the world should LIVE and THINK like we do? Only by living graciously can we expect to find a better world.
It’s not working! And worst of all, we’re creating more and more future enemies. And advertising the conversion of one Muslim only enrages them more. Why did the Pope need to do a public “in your face” ceremony anyway?
